1. Always be very clear in your description of the piece! The more clear you are about what your piece is the easier it will be for you to sell it. Often times when buyers are searching and come across a vague description of the piece they think either, "This person has no clue what they are doing and I wouldn't want art from them anyway." or "What the heck are they hiding?" In either case that is not a desired reaction to your listing. 2. Accept good funds! You can't sell anything if you can't be paid for it. Generally speaking accepting cash is a bad idea. Setting up a free account at a site like paypal, or anywhere else that accepts credit/debit cards for you, is a good idea. You can see when the funds clear and then you can send away your art! 3. Be clear about how you wish to ship your piece! When dealing with art, shipping charges can be a sticky issue. Requiring a shipping and handling charge is no big deal if it is reasonable and will pay to keep the piece safe. Always charge a price that you feel comfortable with, but is also fair. 4. DO NOT OVERCHARGE FOR SHIPPING!!! It is a shipping charge! And should reflect the cost of shipping, not the cost of shipping plus $10 bucks for your hard work in shipping the item! A buyer just bought your piece of art, please don't feel like they then owe you for putting it in the mail. Nothing will kill your repeat business quicker than a bad reputation. 5. Charge and fair price! We do not charge you after you item sells, so do not feel as if you have to charge any percentage points higher on your price to cover our charge. We simply charge the $3.00 for the 60 day listing and that is all. So you can be assured there will be no hidden costs that you need to charge extra to cover. 6. Be Flexible! There is no reason that you have to take a lowball offer, but there is also no reason that you can't be flexible on your price. Listen to all offers that you get, and in the worst case scenario send them back a counter. Remember that a lot of deals start with a rejected offer that turns into a counteroffer!
